Celebrate the Solstice

The winter solstice, the first day of winter, the longest night of the year. The days get longer with the return of the sun and darkness turns to light. This is a fruitful time for setting intentions, to be birthed with the newborn sun. What you conceive now can grow with the sun and gain momentum in spring. The winter solstice is celebrated by many people around the world. Friends gather to celebrate the longest night by lighting candles or dancing around bonfires. Some share festive meals, sing, pray or tell stories. Take this time to set your own intentions, start your own traditions as the winter solstice brings you new light.
