Take Flight!

Birds soar in silence and they flutter with ease. I have heard the flutter of a bird’s wings so close to me, that I thought I felt the air touching my skin as it flew by me. The sound is indescribable, like a whoosh, but more intense and deliberate, more beautiful than a whoosh. A sense of strength and power comes over me as I imagine reaching for the sky to reach its feathers. I feel as if only for a moment, I am that bird, headed toward the horizon for an exhilarating exploration.
